Vegas Trip

I have really slacked with my posts lately, but I have good reason. The kids and I recently went to Vegas for a long overdue visit. My family in Vegas have never seen Elise, so we needed this trip. We stayed there for a week and a half and unfortunately got sick on day 4 and had sick kids for days after we got home, but that is a completely different post. Anyway, we stayed with my brother, Jason and his wife and really enjoyed time with their new baby Bryce. He is too cute and so big! He seriously was the same size as Elise, but 7 months younger. (This picture is a few months old- I didn't take any pictures of Bryce- I am so lame!)We also got to spend a day with my other brother and his wife and my beautiful nieces that I miss so much. It was so bittersweet to see them. I loved every second, but knew that I had to leave. They are adorable and so sweet who can blame me!
Taylor (So sweet! I love that girl so much! She's been like my little girl before I had my own.)
Kamdyn (This girl is too cute! She played with Dallin ALL day. That takes some skill. So patient and so sweet. She makes me cry when I talk to her on the phone and she tells me how much she misses me... I just love that girl!)
Brooklyn (Brooklyn is such a cute girl. And so smart! That girl will take any money she finds and keep it safe for you! The last time I saw Brooklyn she was a year old, so I really loved being able to get to know her better. And it is such a blast from the past looking at her. She looks exactly the way I remember her sisters. She is so sweet!)
I got to see Ronda who is my best friend in the whole world and I loved it! We have been friends since elementary school, we were roommates at college, and I consider her the sister I never had. And her little girls are so cute! This is Emily and Oh my gosh does she look like a spitting image of Ronda!
I visited my friend Chrissy, who use to be my boss, who converted to the church with her adorable family and now is one of my best friends.
An added bonus was that Jon's sister Sarah (who I miss so much since she moved to Michigan) was in town at the same time, so we surprised Dallin and Ava. It was so fun to see her boys were are huge and walking and to see Dallin and Ava pick up where they left off. Those two are just too cute together.
I was able to go to the temple and do some family names which was so awesome. There is just something about being in the temple you were sealed in. I loved it! We couldn't have asked for better weather. It was beautiful everyday. We had a lot of fun, well until all of us got sick. We won't get into that, I want to end on a happy note. So here is a cute picture of Elise that makes me smile:

Sillyness and Embarrassment!!

I still don't have my camera working, but I will have some new pictures up soon. I am borrowing my parents camera for my Vegas trip. That's right, I'm going to Vegas!! I'm so excited. I haven't been back to visit family and friends for over a year. I have lots to do while I am there with the 2 kids, so lots of pictures I'm sure.

Well start with the Embarrassment story- I have always been the time to get the bad stuff over with first. After church on Sunday I had a meeting that lasted a little longer that I had planned. Jon and the kids where patiently waiting for me in the halls for over an hour. Dallin told Jon that he needed to go to the bathroom so Jon said, "Okay, Just a minute" and he kept talking to someone. Dallin ran off, butJon figured he would just be playing and he would wait for him. Well a couple minutes later he realizes that Dallin is no where to be found. He checked the bathroom first and didn't see him so he proceeded to circle the halls looking for him. Then a kid at church told Jon he went in the bathroom. Jon started to head that way when he heard a guy from our ward say, "Hey, buddy! Did you lose your pants?" With the response of, "Nope! I've got them right here." Jon rounded the corner to Dallin holding his pants, socks, shoes, and pull-up in his arms! So, yes he was VERY exposed! So Jon hurries him into the bathroom and asks which toilet he used. He told him and Jon noticed some remnants in the toilet, so he asked him if he pooped. Of course Dallin said yes (although we don't think he did) so Jon asked him if he wiped. Dallin said, "Yep! But I can't reach the toilet paper." So Jon sets Elise on the counter to help him and get him cleaned and dressed. When they left he asked that same kid if he had seen Dallin with his pants off and he said, "Well yeah, but his shirt is pretty long." Okay, so he had to have gone through all least half of the church practically naked. Oh my gosh, I am so glad our ward was gone and I was in a meeting. It was bad enough just hearing the story, I don't think I could have handled being there.

Now for the sillyness:
This is not recent, but I did want to post this while it was on my mind. It must have been 6 or more months ago that this happened, but it still makes me laugh.

Mommy- "Dallin who made you so smart?"
Dallin- "Daddy!"
Mommy- "Who made you so handsome?"
Dallin- "Daddy!"
Mommy- "Well if Daddy made you smart and Daddy made you handsome, what did Mommy give you?"
Dallin- "Trouble!"

That kid is so quick on his toes! It was so funny because he didn't really try, it just came out. He is such a sweet kid too! I just love him! It is so sweet how many times a day he tells me that he loves me. He says it like 25 times a day. And he loves to show his love too. He helps me all the time and he is always wanting to do nice things to "surprise" us. He will clean up all of his toys or get in his PJ's without being asked. It is so cute!

My kid is so funny!

Those that live close by know that Dallin has been blessed with a very witty personality. He has his dad humor and charm. He loves to make people laugh, but he really don't have to try, he's just naturally funny.

This is not necessarily the funniest thing he does, but it's his most recent, so anyway he says things like:

"Mommy, remember when you broke your necklace... That wasn't very much fun; Let's not do that again." I know that this doesn't sound like much.. but it goes on and on and he cracks himself up. So, we play right back with "Dallin, remember when you climbed on your dresser and got stuck...That wasn't very much fun; Let's not do that again." Or..."Dallin, remember when you got your fingers stuck in your little people fence...That wasn't very much fun; Let's not do that again." His most famous line is "Daddy, remember when we got stuck in the mud (don't ask), That wasn't very much fun; Let's not do that again." So anything that he/we do that is memorable goes perfectly in the game. It is funny to see how many you can come up with. We just go back and forth and he cracks up with each one. It is too funny!

Ideas?

I need help from you! Yep you! I need some ideas for young women activities. We have been doing planning and it seems like after being in Y.W. for 2 years we are running low on ideas... So PLEASE post any ideas that you have for us. Think of things that you did as a youth... or that the youth in your ward have done. Thank you! Thank you! And my girls with thank you too!

My Little Tree Hugger!

When we lived in Blacksburg recycle bins were part of your trash pick up. So we of course separated our trash and recycle and taught Dallin what went where. Well, in Raymore you have to pay to recycle (crazy I know), but we found a place that you can take it yourself for free. So we continued to recycle. Dallin never really said or did anything until one day he saw us throw away a can and he got all upset and said "Mommy that's not trash, that's recycle!" and he dug through the trash and took it out. He does this quite often even with things that you can't recycle, like yogurt containers. He gets really upset when you tell him that they don't accept a certain item. We have since given up on the recycle thing because it just seems to accumulate in the garage but never go anywhere and we needed the space. So we have to throw things away secretly now so that the "Dallin patrol" won't catch us. The other day Jon's dad threw away a soda can and Dallin just happened to be throwing something away after him and he saw it. He dug it out of the trash and took it upstairs to him and told him that it wasn't trash. It is really cute, but hopefully he won't do that to a complete stranger.

Pictures

These are just some cute pictures I wanted to share. No real reason.. Well cuteness is a reason right?? Enjoy!

Dallin being a ham!

Dallin is a huge fan of pancakes, waffles, and whipped cream. He got a little carried away before we got him a fork!

Elise showing of her 3 teeth. Although her second front tooth just broke through a few days ago.
This is an example of Elise letting me know she wants to go down for her nap. She will honestly just go over and wait at the gate for me to take her up.

Elise is really trying to walk. Well at least some days she tries. She can do about 2 steps so far. (Dallin took this picture)
Daddy and Elise ready for church

Dallin has a Lightening McQueen play tent and Elise LOVES to go inside to play.
