My Little Tree Hugger!

When we lived in Blacksburg recycle bins were part of your trash pick up. So we of course separated our trash and recycle and taught Dallin what went where. Well, in Raymore you have to pay to recycle (crazy I know), but we found a place that you can take it yourself for free. So we continued to recycle. Dallin never really said or did anything until one day he saw us throw away a can and he got all upset and said "Mommy that's not trash, that's recycle!" and he dug through the trash and took it out. He does this quite often even with things that you can't recycle, like yogurt containers. He gets really upset when you tell him that they don't accept a certain item. We have since given up on the recycle thing because it just seems to accumulate in the garage but never go anywhere and we needed the space. So we have to throw things away secretly now so that the "Dallin patrol" won't catch us. The other day Jon's dad threw away a soda can and Dallin just happened to be throwing something away after him and he saw it. He dug it out of the trash and took it upstairs to him and told him that it wasn't trash. It is really cute, but hopefully he won't do that to a complete stranger.

that is so funny. Sometimes kids are the biggest rule enforcers.

That's so cute! Ava loves to help with recycling too! She calls it "oncycle". These two are pretty funny!

It's amazing how things will stick with kids once you teach them. I would have loved to see my dad's face when Dallin reprimanded him!

That's my nephew. There's nothing wrong with being green. Apparently he has a great start at age 3:) He is too cute!
