AGAIN!?

Exactly one week after my last Pyrex incident, I was cooking a pork tenderloin and potatoes in the oven and I heard a pop. I looked in the oven and my other Pyrex dish had broken into a million pieces. After thinking and talking to family about how this is possible, we figured out it was the dish that the last Pyrex that broke on my face fell into... so it probably had a hairline crack which caused it to do this. SO frustrating! Here is what it looked like after I took the meat out. I'm telling you, I have the worst luck! Jon was so sweet to come home with 2 new Pyrex dishes for me.

Jon's Birthday

I'm such a blog slacker these days. I'm going to ATTEMPT to catch up... So bear with me. Jon's birthday was in May and I think he had a good birthday. We had both sets of parents over for cake and ice cream. Jon requested homemade German chocolate cake which everyone appreciated. Jon's parents got him a wheel barrel which quickly became a fun toy for the kids. Jon was so cute, he put them both in and circle the house running with them. They loved it! I got him a new gun for his birthday that he had been eyeballing for some time. It's a Rugar LCP. I tried to be sneaking and wrap stuff so he wouldn't be able to guess so I put the gun in a package of socks with his favorite BBQ sauce to confuse him. And his extra mag and ammo was packaged 3 times into different sized boxes. I have to make it fun! He loves his new toy and I do too. I think it might be on my birthday list next month.

Accident Prone

I know I have posted before about how I am accident prone... so no one should be surprised with this post. Here's the story: I was getting ready to start dinner on Wednesday and I pulled my 9 x 13 from the top shelf of my cabinet and BAM! I got hit in the head with the 8 x 8 that was next to it. Not only did I get hit really hard by the dish, I broke the dish with my forehead!! It seriously felt like I got punched by a huge guy! I was sure I was going to be bleeding but I was one LUCKY girl and I walked away with just a small cut on my nose and a VERY sore head and swollen nose. Thank goodness I didn't have to go to the ER. It hasn't quite been 1 year since my last visit and I'm not ready for another one!

Family Pictures

We FINALLY had family pictures taken (back in Feb). The last time we had family pictures taken Dallin was 6 months old... Yeah, we are pretty lame. We of course picked a VERY cold, snowy day to do outside pictures, but they turned out cute. Don't mind the red noses!

Mother's Day

This year Dallin was so excited for Mother's Day. He kept telling that it was my special day and that I didn't have to do anything. It was cute because we told him that it was going to be Father's Day in June and he said, "When is it going to be Boy's Day." He is so cute! Anyway, I was spoiled with 3 delicious meals and tons of pampering. I could totally get used to that! My sweet family made me chocolate roll-out cookies with a sweet message! And this was lunch- a monte cristo sandwich. Isn't it pretty! For dinner Jon made the BEST salmon with a warm black bean and corn salad. It was AMAZING! I didn't get a picture because it was gone as soon as it hit my lips. What a great day! I loved every second of it!

Camping

We decided to do an overnight camping trip in April thinking it would be a good time of year; not to hot not to cold. Ha! It was so cold! We had a lot of fun, but our Vegas sleeping bags did not cut it at night. Although the cold weather did keep the bugs away which was a HUGE plus. The kids loved our campsite because it had a great playset for them. After we put the kids to bed, Jon and I were sitting around the camp fire talking and I saw these little glowing eyes staring at me and I jumped out of my chair. It was a raccoon! I'm glad it wasn't anything else, but those things have wick claws on them. They just kept coming back too. We kept see them so we went to bed so we didn't have to take one down. :) The next day we went to the lake and rented a boat and did some fishing. The kids had so much fun! And so did we.
